OUTSIDE CATERING
We have been privileged to be invited to cater for a number of outside events over the years, ranging from
wedding receptions to bellydancing festivals and all over the South of England. The menus available vary
together with the set up and the catering team that we take with us. The following two menu suggestions include
some Silk Road decor, set up, hire of crockery, main course cutlery, napkins etc. as well as the food items and the
rice servers, fryers and hot plates needed for preparation. However, every enquiry is different - some events
work best with a barbecue while others don't need many serving staff, for example - and all things are negotiable
- it is better to make just a couple of hundred pounds profit on a quiet day, than be sat looking out of the window
and earn nothing! So, please take a look and come back to us with your requirements.
£15.00 per person menu.
Three cold meze platters ie: houmos, cacik, Turkish potato salad
Three hot meze platters ie: halloumi (goats cheese), falafel, cheese borek
Warm Turkish bread, olives, Basmati rice, Turkish salad
This menu does not require a barbecue.
£25.00 per person menu.
Three cold meze platters ie: houmos, cacik, Turkish potato salad
Two hot meze platters ie: falafel, cheese borek
Chargrilled lamb chops marinated with oregano
Chargrilled Chicken shish kebabs
Halloumi kebabs or vegetarian kebabs
Warm Turkish bread, olives, Basmati rice, Turkish salad
Baklava dessert (filo pastry with crushed pistachio nuts and honey)
This menu requires at least one hired coal barbecue, depending on guest numbers.
There are some additional items which we can also supply including tea & coffee, live entertainment ie: dj, jazz
band or belly dancer and soft/alcoholic drinks.
The above menu quotations do not include the cost of hiring the barbecue, tables & chairs or marquees, nor
does it include long distance fuel or staff costs. Most events we have done in the past have needed around 8-10
waiting & barbecue staff for say a hundred person event at a daily rate of between £60-80pp depending on length
of function. A couple of events that we have hosted have only required the chef, myself and one other! So, it is
not always the case that we have needed to bring the whole team along. More staff might be required, however,
if we are needed to run the bar, for example, in addition to the barbecue and table service.

person wedding reception we catered for this summer in Surrey.

SILK ROAD RESTAURANT FOR FUNCTIONS
For functions with a difference, look no further than The Silk Road Restaurant. We can cater for every
kind of reception - from weddings to celebrating the lives of those who are no longer with us.
Unfortunately, we do not have a wedding licence at the Silk Road, so we are unable to conduct your
ceremony here although this is a service we are considering for the future. However, we are able to cater
for your reception and the restaurant can accommodate around 75 seated or 90 buffet style, leaving room
for a dance floor or a live band.
There are a variety of menus to choose from, including set, party, buffet or demi-buffet which can all be
adapted to suit your own style. We can also provide all kinds of live entertainment including everything
from table magicians, to DJ hosted parties and Brazilian & Latin jazz bands.
We have conducted a number of weddings, birthday parties, hen nights, ceremonies and other receptions
over the years and each one has been tailored according to our customer's own requirements. The care
and attention to detail paid, we believe is second to none. Please feel free to contact us by email or
